_pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd transfers the contents of a software package from the distribution
medium or directory to install it onto the system. Used without the _----_dddd
option, _pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd looks in the default spool directory for the package
(_////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_pppp_oooo_oooo_llll_////_pppp_kkkk_gggg). Used with the _----_ssss option, it reads the package to a
spool directory instead of installing it.
_----_dddd _d_e_v_i_c_e Installs or copies a package from _d_e_v_i_c_e. _d_e_v_i_c_e can be a full
pathname to a directory (e.g., _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_tttt_mmmm_pppp) or the identifiers for
tape (e.g., _////_dddd_eeee_vvvv_////_rrrr_mmmm_tttt_////_tttt_pppp_ssss_????_dddd_????), floppy disk (e.g.,
_////_dddd_eeee_vvvv_////_rrrr_dddd_ssss_kkkk_////_ffff_dddd_ssss_????_dddd_????_...._3333_...._5555_hhhh_iiii), or removable disk. It can also be the
device alias (for example, _cccc_tttt_aaaa_pppp_eeee_1111 for the cartridge tape
drive).
_----_rrrr _r_e_s_p_o_n_s_e
Identifies a file or directory, _r_e_s_p_o_n_s_e, which contains output
from a previous _pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_ssss_kkkk session. This file supplies the
interaction responses that would be requested by the package in
interactive mode. _r_e_s_p_o_n_s_e must be a full pathname.
_----_nnnn Installation occurs in non-interactive mode. The default mode
is interactive.
_----_aaaa _a_d_m_i_n Defines an installation administration file, _a_d_m_i_n, to be used
in place of the default administration file. The token _nnnn_oooo_nnnn_eeee
overrides the use of any _a_d_m_i_n file, and thus forces
interaction with the user. Unless a full path name is given,
_pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd looks in the _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_aaaa_dddd_mmmm_////_iiii_nnnn_ssss_tttt_aaaa_llll_llll_////_aaaa_dddd_mmmm_iiii_nnnn directory for the
file.
_p_k_g_i_n_s_t Specifies the package instance or list of instances to be
installed. The token _aaaa_llll_llll may be used to refer to all packages
available on the source medium. The format _p_k_g_i_n_s_t_...._**** can be
used to indicate all instances of a package. When using this
format, enclose the command line in single quotes to prevent
the shell from interpreting the * character.
_----_ssss _s_p_o_o_l Reads the package into the directory _s_p_o_o_l instead of
installing it.
When executed without options, _pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd users _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_ssss_pppp_oooo_oooo_llll_////_pppp_kkkk_gggg (the
default spool directory).
NNNNOOOOTTTTEEEESSSS
When transferring a package to a spool directory, the _----_rrrr, _----_nnnn, and _----_aaaa
options cannot be used.
The _----_rrrr option can be used to indicate a directory name as well as a
filename. The directory can contain numerous _r_e_s_p_o_n_s_e files, each
sharing the name of the package with which it should be associated. This
would be used, for example, when adding multiple interactive packages
with one invocation of _pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd. Each package would need a _r_e_s_p_o_n_s_e file.
If you create response files with the same name as the package (that is,
_p_a_c_k_a_g_e_1 and _p_a_c_k_a_g_e_2), then name the directory in which these files
reside after the _----_rrrr.
The _----_nnnn option will cause the installation to halt if any interaction is
needed to complete it.
Creating the file _////_vvvv_aaaa_rrrr_////_iiii_nnnn_ssss_tttt_////_...._nnnn_oooo_pppp_kkkk_gggg will cause _pppp_kkkk_gggg_aaaa_dddd_dddd to ignore the
